Workshop: Train the (Mentoring) Trainers, Kenosha

Train the Trainers, Monday, March 22, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, UW-Parkside/Tallent Hall, Room 182, 900 Wood Road, Kenosha, WI, (Presented by: April Riordan, from the Mentoring Partnership in Minnesota)-April Riordan will be presenting this training, which is geared towards professional staff of mentoring programs.  Standard 3 from the new 3rd Edition Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring describes research-based requirements, or "benchmarks" for programs to "train prospective mentors in the basic knowledge and skills needed to build an effective mentoring relationship."  This workshop will help participants meet the benchmarks for this standard by demonstrating and sharing creative and efficient ways to deliver the required topics in a pre-match, in-person training.  Participants will have the opportunity to practice delivering training to each other and will leave with lots of new ideas for preparing their mentors!  This training is being held through Mentor Kenosha & Racine.
