Recent changes in the regulatory environment have caused significant changes in auditing standards. We have all heard about the new Risk Assessment Standards - but what does this really mean to nonprofit organizations and their relationship with auditors and what is now being required of you? Besides requiring additional documentation from you, these standards have changed the way auditors approach the engagement. This session will provide an overview of what has happened, why it is affecting you and what changes to expect in the future.
Our discussion leader, David Odahl, is a manager in Wegner CPAs Assurance Department. He joined Wegner CPAs as a staff accountant in January 1996. David has assisted on a variety of compilation, review, and audit engagements. Since 1998, David has primarily worked as the auditor-in-charge on a number of audit engagements and is currently the auditor-in-charge on over thirty-five audits of commercial businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and employee benefit plans. David is also a member of the firm’s quality control function, ensuring that the firm’s personnel comply with the applicable professional standards.
