Planning for Wisconsin’s Participation in the 2008 Nonprofit Congress
From June 1-4, 2008, over 800 nonprofit leaders from all over the us will join together in Washington, DC for four days of celebration, learning and action. The Nonprofit Congress is designed to build on the accomplishments of nonprofits across the country. Peak Performance: Nonprofit Leaders Rate Highest in 360-Degree Reviews
The Community Resource Exchange in New York recently conducted a study comparing the results of the 360-degree evaluations of nonprofit leaders against those of business leaders. In 14 of 17 leadership dimensions in which 61 nonprofit leaders were rated, they outscored their business counterparts. Scoring was done anonymously by the leaders' peers, supervisors, and those who reported directly to them as well as by a category called "others." Learn more.

Speaking up for the Nonprofit Sector
How much political clout does the nonprofit sector have? According to the organizers of the V3 Campaign a lot that was recently launched. $260 billion in annual donations, $3 trillion in assets, 80 million annual volunteers, and 14 million employees*. The V3 Campaign is encouraging nonprofits VOICE to contact candidates and let them know that their VOTES are tied to the candidate’s level of commitment to supporting the work of the nonprofit sector. Finally, the campaign aims to increase candidates’ awareness of the social and economic VALUE that the nonprofit sector provides for the nation by highlighting the quantifiable impact of the work of the sector through statistics such as these.
