The 2004 Milwaukee Board Governance Index identified fundraising as the greatest training need for nonprofit Boards. Financial concerns range from funding cuts and budget constraints to the need to develop new, reliable funding sources. Fundraising challenges include: diversifying revenues, expanding development efforts, organizing capital or endowment campaigns, and learning to overcome fundraising inertia.
