Conference: Growing Resiliency in Youth Mentor Conference, Kenosha

Mentor Kenosha & Racine's 2009 Annual Mentor Conference: "Growing Resiliency in Youth", Friday, December 4, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, UW-Parkside, Student Center-Internationally renowned resiliency author and educator, Nan Henderson, will deliver the conference keynote address entitled, "Mentoring for Resiliency: Building 'Bounce Back' Kids." Ms. Henderson will also lead workshops that will provide practical applications of resiliency principles. Additional workshop topics include program capacity building, preparing youth for the workforce, juvenile justice and gang discussion panels, Mentor Kenosha & Racine program certification, and connecting schools with mentoring programs. The conference will also include networking opportunities at an Appreciative Inquiry Lunch and an end of day "schmoozing" and book signing session.
(Conference Fee: $45; AmeriCorp Volunteers, Students and Job Seekers in mentoring: $25. Fee includes lunch, parking and conference materials)(Scholarships available)
