Certificate Series Workshop 1 of 6: Fundamentals of Nonprofit Management, Eau Claire

This workshop is #1 of 6 in the Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Series from UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education. Register for some or all of the workshops.

Fundamentals of Nonprofit Management
Learn the fundamental elements of a successful nonprofit organization as well as some historical perspective on the nonprofit sector including why it exists and how it is different from the public for profit sector. Human resource management including how to adequately staff your nonprofit organization, negotiation and conflict resolution, and diversity among staff will all be addressed. Volunteer recruitment and management, and budgeting in these economic times and beyond will also be addressed as part of this workshop.

Presenter
JOANN STORMER is Executive Director of Leadership Wisconsin. Leadership Wisconsin is designed to strengthen communities by preparing leaders as catalysts to effectively deal with today’s changing world. JoAnn was the co-founder and then Interim Director of the Wisconsin Nonprofits Association (WNA). JoAnn has over twenty years experience in various roles with nonprofit organizations developing curriculum, conducting leadership training, fund raising, marketing and administration.

Scholarships
: Partial scholarships are available for a limited number of participants. Please complete the Scholarship Application Form and submit it electronically or mail or fax it with your registration form to 715-836-5263. PRIORITY DEADLINE — December 15, 2009

Fee: Fee includes: program materials, instruction, handouts and lunch.

Please note: If you would like to register for the full series, we suggest you complete the printable registration form and fax it to us at 715-836-5263. It is possible to register for the full series online but will require you to register for each workshop individually and will take a little more time.

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your registration up to 5 business days before a program’s start date, and we will refund your payment less a $25 administrative fee per workshop. If you cancel fewer than 5 business days prior to the program start date, no refund will be given. You may substitute another person for your registration at any time. Call the Continuing Education Office (715-836-3636/toll free 866-893-2423) for assistance. University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel any program due to insufficient enrollment or other administrative reasons, as well as the right to limit enrollment to ensure quality. In the event of a UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education cancellation, a full refund will be issued. Our liability is limited to the refund of the program fee.
